Santiago’s Metro Line 7 project has reached a major milestone with breakthrough of a tunnel between main interstation sections of the PC-12 and Isidora Goyenecha Station.

The event was attended by the President of Chile, José Antonio Kast Rist, and came following another successful tunnel creation on the same line.

Design work for sections 2, 3 and 4 of Line 7 has been handled by SYSTRA Subterra – with the company also set to continue development on the line’s Selective Door Opening (SDO) system as phase 2 of its contract with Metro de Santiago.
