Auracast™, based on Bluetooth® LE Audio, has the potential to fundamentally change how audio information is delivered in public transport.

Instead of relying exclusively on conventional loudspeakers, announcements can also be transmitted directly to compatible hearing aids, smartphones and headphones. This creates an additional communication channel that complements existing passenger information systems rather than replacing them.

The implications go far beyond accessibility.

Passengers could receive clearer announcements in noisy environments. Different language streams could be offered simultaneously. Temporary information, disruption messages or service updates could become more personal and easier to understand.

For rail operators, this opens new possibilities to improve passenger communication while building on existing infrastructure.
