Québec City’s Landmark TramCité Project © CDPQ Infra CDPQ Infra, the infrastructure development and project delivery subsidiary of La Caisse, is leading the project, which is intended to improve public transport connectivity across Québec City and support future urban development. To deliver the rail systems package, Siemens Mobility and AtkinsRéalis have formed a joint venture known as Connexion Capitale. The partnership has entered into a co-development agreement with Infra CITÉ Inc. to refine the project’s technical design, programme and cost before construction begins. During the co-development phase, Connexion Capitale will work with CDPQ Infra on the delivery of the rail systems, including project management, systems integration and interface management. Aaron Branston, Chief Executive Officer of Siemens Mobility Canada, said: TramCité is more than a transportation project — it’s a city shaping investment. Projects like this require partners that know urban transit and think long term. By pairing global rail systems expertise with deep local understanding, our partnership with AtkinsRéalis will support CDPQ Infra in delivering one of Québec’s most emblematic infrastructure programs. The technical scope of the contract includes track installation, signalling, cybersecurity systems, traction power substations, overhead catenary equipment, communications and passenger information systems, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), and road traffic management systems. TramCité is expected to support approximately 78,000 jobs across Québec over the course of its development and delivery. Ian L. Edwards, President and CEO at AtkinsRéalis said: This project reflects the growing importance of integrated systems expertise in delivering complex transit infrastructure. By bringing together AtkinsRéalis’ global capabilities in systems integration, engineering, and major project delivery with Siemens Mobility’s advanced rail technologies and digital mobility solutions, we are well positioned to support the successful implementation of this landmark project.
