Alstom has signed a letter of intent with DB Cargo Polska to establish a modern service centre in Rybnik.

The new facility is set to serve as a complimentary unit to the rolling stock manufacturer’s existing centre in Toruń, where it currently services Traxx locomotives.

With the addition of the new facility, Alstom is seeking to enhance its capabilities to meet growing demands for locomotive service solutions within Poland.

Beata Rusinowicz, Managing Director of Alstom in Poland, said:

The past 24 months have seen Alstom enter into agreements with a number of Polish operators for the supply of 61 third-generation Traxx Universal locomotives, with the company expecting this number to increase in the coming years.

The company is currently fulfilling orders of 40 locomotives for OnTrain, 18 locomotives for CLIP Intermodal and 3 for Captrain Polska.

Our Rybnik production and repair facility is one of the most modern in this part of Europe, and its attractive location guarantees optimal conditions for the maintenance and inspection of Traxx locomotives.
