Arriva Group has signed a set of new service agreements with the Kujawsko-Pomorskie region in Poland.

The agreements aim to strengthen the operator’s rail services within the country.

The new contract, which has been valued at nearly 5 million EUR, will see Arriva operate services on two additional lines – Brodnica–Rypin and Wierzchucin–Laskowice – beginning December 2026.

The new services will reinstate long-dormant routes, with the Brodnica–Rypin line seeing its first rail activity for 26 years and the Wierzchucin–Laskowice Pomorskie line being reactivated after five years of no service. Both routes will operate a minimum of six return journeys per day and travel roughly 320,000 kilometres per year.

Arriva is currently responsible for 50% of regional rail services throughout the Kujawsko-Pomorskie region, covering more than three million train-kilometres per year.
