These diesel multiple units will add to the existing fleet of Stadler FLIRTs that have been in operation in Fort Worth, Texas – the city Trinity Metro serves – since 2019. One of the services Trinity Metro operates is the TEXRail service, which is seeing growing demand. Since it launched in December 2019, it has had more than 3 million passengers and it is continuing to be a vital transport offering in North Texas. Rich Andreski, President and CEO of Trinity Metro, said: “TEXRail’s remarkable success underscores its vital role in North Texas’ transportation network. “This fleet expansion builds on that success as we work toward creating a world-class transportation system that not only meets the needs of today but also drives innovation, economic growth, and connectivity for the future.” Stadler’s US headquarters are in Salt Lake City, which is where the original TEXRail FLIRT fleet was assembled. Several trains operating on this line have already travelled more than 500,000 miles. Reed Lanham, Vice President of Rail for Trinity Metro, said: “Demand for TEXRail continues to rise, and these new train sets will enable us to maintain high service standards while accommodating more riders. With the recent service enhancements and the upcoming extension to the Medical District, we’re focused on providing an exceptional experience for our customers.” Martin Ritter, CEO Stadler US Inc., pointed out that the TEXRail project was the first project Stadler US got to assemble in the US from start to finish and highlighted that the company was honoured to once again be trusted to supply the vehicles for Trinity Metro’s fleet expansion. source= https://railway-news.com/trinity-metro-signs-contract-for-additional-stadler-dmus/ Paylaşmak Güzeldir...
