Bombardier Transportation has signed a contract to provide rail system maintenance for an undisclosed operator in Southeast Asia for the next 20 years. Although Bombardier has not released the name or specific location of the customer the company has confirmed that the order is worth approximately 245 million euros.

The award of this large contract reflects the extensive presence which the company has developed in the Asia and Pacific region over the last 60 years. Bombardier has provided products and services for the rail industry in China since 1954 and currently operates six joint ventures and seven Wholly Foreign-Owned Enterprises (WFOE) in the country. It also operates transportation divisions in India, Malaysia, Mauritius, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.
