Australia: Webuild Signs Yurringa Energy Contract for SRL East Project Yurtdışı Haberleri by railsistem - Nisan 21, 20260 Webuild (as part of Terra Verde Joint Venture (TVJV)) has announced that the Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East Project has signed its largest First Nations business partnership to-date – a social procurement contract with Yurringa Energy for the supply of renewable energy. The contract marks a major milestone for TVJV in its support of the project’s commitment to engage in strong partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander owned businesses – with Yurringa Energy being Australia’s first Indigenous-owned energy retailer. The Aboriginal, Kinaway and Supply Nation certified business was formed and is committed to delivering both reliable and cost-effective energy whilst respecting and integrating Indigenous cultural values into the projects in which it operates. In 2024, an Australian-first saw Webuild, as part of the Spark North East Link Joint Venture, teamed up with Yurringa Energy, to power its tunnel boring machines (TBMs) with 100% renewable energy. The partnership aims to foster Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment by creating valuable training and development opportunities. Once operational in 2035, the SRL project is expected to improve travel efficiency across Melbourne, taking over 600,000 cars off the roads each day. For its part; Webuild is delivering the excavation of two parallel tunnels for almost 10 kilometres between the future stations of Box Hill and Glen Waverley, the creation of of 39 cross passages between them, two station boxes, two TBM launch sites and one intervention and ventilation shaft.
