NJ TRANSIT Issues RFQ for New Rail Maintenance Facility in Clifton Yurtdışı Haberleri by railsistem - Temmuz 25, 20250 NJ TRANSIT has published a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the final design, construction, and commissioning of a new Northern Rail Maintenance-of-Way (MOW) Facility. The project, located in Clifton, New Jersey, marks a significant step in replacing the existing Wood-Ridge facility, which has been prone to flooding and is no longer considered fit for long-term operational needs. The new site aims to improve NJ TRANSIT’s capacity to carry out maintenance and repair work on its rail network. By relocating operations to a purpose-built facility, the agency intends to enhance its ability to support infrastructure maintenance more reliably and efficiently. Kris Kolluri, President and CEO of NJ TRANSIT said: This facility will provide more efficient maintenance and more dependable service, by ensuring our track repair equipment remains in a state of good repair. With this RFQ, we’re advancing a project that directly supports the long-term reliability and safety of our rail network. The proposed facility will serve as a central base for right-of-way maintenance and associated infrastructure work. It will be designed to accommodate current and future operational requirements and to meet updated building codes and technical standards. Key elements of the project include: Demolition and environmental remediation of existing structures at 99 Kuller Road Construction of three new buildings on two NJ TRANSIT-owned parcels Grading of the site, installation of access roads, and creation of designated parking areas Utility coordination and integration of maintenance-related equipment The RFQ invites design-build teams to submit for Special Prequalification. Applicants will be assessed on their technical capabilities, experience on comparable projects, and their proposed approach to delivering the scope of work. Based on these criteria, NJ TRANSIT will identify a shortlist of qualified teams, who will then be invited to participate in the formal Request for Proposal (RFP) stage.
