It is designed to maintain and enhance the operational performance of digital systems that support passenger services and fleet management. Under the terms of the agreement, Alstom will provide continuous technical support, remote diagnostics, software updates, and cybersecurity measures. A 24/7 helpdesk and technical assistance will be available to address any incidents that arise, with the aim of minimising service disruption. The covered systems include onboard vehicle diagnostics, communication networks, CCTV video transmission, and tools for monitoring energy consumption. These technologies will support service reliability, provide real-time passenger information, and promote more efficient energy use. The agreement also includes the continued use of Alstom’s HealthHub platform, which monitors train condition and performance in real time. By using predictive maintenance techniques, HealthHub aims to identify and resolve potential issues before they affect service. SL’s technical personnel will also receive training and support from Alstom as part of the agreement. Additionally, Alstom will provide rapid response capabilities in the event of cybersecurity threats. Maria Signal Martebo, Managing Director of Alstom Sweden said: This partnership clearly reflects Alstom’s commitment to delivering dependable digital solutions. By entrusting Alstom with the operational support and continued development of these systems, we ensure they evolve in line with operational needs and rising cybersecurity demands. We are proud to contribute to a safer and more resilient public transport system. Alstom has delivered over 1,000 trains to the Swedish market and is involved in several long-term maintenance contracts. The company is also playing a leading role in the deployment of the European Railway Traffic Management System (ERTMS) in Sweden, including onboard and trackside components. The agreement with SL reflects an ongoing collaboration aimed at maintaining the reliability of Stockholm’s metro infrastructure while preparing for future operational needs.
