Siemens Mobility has officially opened its new Rail Components Distribution Centre at Goole Rail Village.

The new facility, which aims to help provide distribution services for the company’s fourteen UK rolling stock maintenance depots and servicing centres, is set to introduce up to 1,000 new positions within the East Riding of Yorkshire.

The Centre was opened by Rt Hon Sir David Davis MP, Member of Parliament for Goole and Pocklington, and Cllr Anne Handley, the Leader of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, both of whom joined Siemens Mobility’s Joint CEO Sambit Banerjee in the ribbon cutting ceremony.

This state-of-the-art facility located within my constituency represents yet another investment by Siemens Mobility in Goole and I look forward to more milestones to come as the Rail Village continues to grow.

Aiming to reduce its carbon footprint by localising its stock sources and reducing travelling distances for fleet materials, the facility will also support the integration of the Rail Village within the country’s wider supply chain for rolling stock operations.
