This advanced system, which utilises direct train-to-train communication and embeds the system’s intelligence on board, is expected to enhance operational efficiency and network performance. The additional trains will replace the ageing VAL-208 trainsets, which have served the network since its launch. Scheduled for deployment from 2028, this order forms part of a broader modernisation initiative aimed at improving the metro’s infrastructure, rolling stock, and automated train control systems across Lines 1 and 2. Frédéric Wiscart, President of Alstom France said: “Alstom is delighted with this new order from the Métropole Européenne de Lille for this new-generation equipment. These new, modern and comfortable metros represent a considerable asset for improving the network and the passenger experience.” The new metros, based on Alstom’s rubber-tyred metro solutions, offer several enhancements: Increased Capacity: Each train can carry up to 545 passengers. The “boa” design, with wide gangways and open spaces between cars, allows for seamless movement throughout the train. Improved Accessibility: Dedicated areas for passengers with reduced mobility, alongside multimedia to improve the travel experience. Enhanced Safety: An integrated video surveillance system will ensure passenger security onboard and at platforms. Energy Efficiency: High-performance traction equipment will reduce energy consumption. The trains will be designed and assembled in France. With their delivery, Line 1 will transition to an entirely new-generation fleet, improving comfort, accessibility, and environmental performance. Equipped with the Urbalis Fluence autopilot system, the new trains will also increase the frequency of services. During peak hours, intervals between trains will be reduced to as little as 66 seconds. source= https://railway-news.com/alstom-to-deliver-15-automated-metro-trains-to-lille/ Paylaşmak Güzeldir...
