The station, located at 2491 Old New York Avenue in DeLand, began regular service on Monday 12 August 2024, with the first train departing at 5:15 am.

This is the northernmost stop on the SunRail network, extending service by 12.2 miles from the previous terminal at DeBary.

Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Secretary Jared W. Perdue, P.E. said:

“Today marks an exciting day where we can officially welcome DeLand and the surrounding community to the SunRail system. I’m extremely proud of the efforts of all our partners and FDOT team members who have made this final leg of the corridor a reality, accomplishing the original vision laid out for the SunRail system.”

The SunRail service now operates 40 trains from Monday to Friday between DeLand and Poinciana.

The new station’s design reflects DeLand’s historical and natural charm, featuring a centre platform and proximity to the existing Amtrak station.

Fares for the service start at 2 USD. All stations and trains are fully accessible and offer free parking, onboard restrooms, comfortable seating, and free WiFi.

Upon arrival at the DeLand Station, a free, dedicated shuttle service will soon operate between the station and downtown DeLand. The station also accommodates cyclists with easy access to downtown and nearby trails.
