Canada: Polar Bear Express Introduces Express Wi-Fi Service

Ontario Northland has announced that its new ON Board Wi-Fi and Entertainment System is now available on board the Polar Bear Express.

Provided by Icomera, the Polar Bear Express Wi-Fi service offers free internet for all passengers onboard, as well as a complimentary entertainment portal allowing travellers access to video content, music and audiobooks, as well as e-books.

Ontario Northland has stressed that services maybe limited at times and some applications and sites maybe blocked

Chad Evans, Chief Executive Officer of Ontario Northland, says:

“It has been a long-held goal to offer Wi-Fi on the Polar Bear Express, challenged by the remote nature of the service area.

“Passengers can now stay connected while on board and access a variety of entertainment options. This service enhancement marks a significant milestone, demonstrating Ontario Northland’s commitment to modernization and meeting the needs of passengers.”

The Wi-Fi upgrade also includes new integrations with onboard payment systems within the dining car, allowing for the use of debit and credit cards for purchases.
