Deutsche Bahn Invests €2bn in 73 New ICE Trains Yurtdışı Haberleri by railsistem - Mayıs 17, 20230 Deutsche Bahn (DB) has announced a 2 billion EUR investment in 73 new ICE trains from Talgo and Siemens Mobility. This is one of the largest procurement projects in the company’s history, and includes 56 ICE L trains from Talgo and 17 ICE 3neo trains from Siemens Mobility. With this order, the average age of ICE and Intercity trains will drop from 18 today to 12 by 2030 © Deutsche Bahn The new trains will enter service between 2026 and 2030 and will provide level boarding, improved comfort and better Wi-Fi connectivity for passengers. Michael Peterson, DB Board Member for Long-Distance Passenger Transport said: “DB will undergo a comprehensive rejuvenation in the coming years. This applies to the rail network as well as to our trains. Already this year we will receive an average of three new ICE trains per month. With an additional two billion euros, we are speeding up the rejuvenation of our train fleet. People want to take the train. With new trains, more comfort and faster connections, we are meeting the boom in demand for environmentally friendly mobility on the rails.” ICE L Deutsche Bahn’s ICE L trains run at speeds of up to 230km/h and operate throughout Germany. From 2024, this model will also be used on routes between Berlin and Amsterdam. Volker Wissing, Federal Minister for Digitalisation and Transport said: “The new trains stand for progress on the rails – fast, digital, barrier-free.
