The LNER traincrew member who intervened at the risk of his own life when a man started stabbing his passengers has been discharged from hospital and is now continuing his recovery at home. Eleven people needed hospital treatment, some of them for serious injuries. Samir (‘Sam’) Zitouni, 48, was critically hurt after he had protected people on the train, and LNER managing director David Horne has described his actions as ‘incredibly brave’.
