LA Metro has confirmed that a new public transport hub aimed at improving access to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is set to open on 6 June.

The Metro Transit Center will provide connections to Metro’s K and C rail lines, a newly constructed 16-bay bus plaza, and a range of facilities for cyclists and transit users.

The centre, located near Aviation Boulevard and 96th Street, is part of a broader effort to improve multimodal transport links across the region. Once operational, it will offer more direct and convenient connections between the city’s public transport network and the airport area.

In addition to its rail and bus infrastructure, the Transit Center includes a secure bike hub, a customer service office, and passenger amenities.

A future connection to Los Angeles World Airports’ Automated People Mover—currently under construction—is also planned. Once completed, this elevated train system will link the Metro Transit Center with the LAX terminals, enabling passengers to travel between the city’s rail network and the airport without the need for shuttles or road-based transfers.

The opening event on 6 June is expected to include public tours and information sessions about how to use the new connections.
