Sunderland Corporation No. 16 returned to service last October and is expected to see the most use at Beamish during the coming year. GARY BOYD-HOPE Ever-reliable Hurst Nelson-built Newcastle Corporation ‘A’ class car No. 114 recorded the second highest mileage for the year, covering 5,600 miles in service. Early predictions were for the open-top car to reach 5,500 miles, thereby meeting expectations, although the figure was down on 2017’s total of 6,225 miles.
