Olsztyn orders Durmazlar LRVs

THE Polish city of Olsztyn signed a Zlotys 108m ($US 29m) contract with Durmazlar, Turkey, on July 18 for 12 low-floor trams, with a Zlotys 98m option for a further 12 vehicles.

The first two vehicles are due to be delivered within 21 months, with the last arriving in Poland five months later.

At 32.5m, the five-section bidirectional vehicles will be 3.2m longer than the Solaris Tramino LRVs delivered for the first phase of the network in 2015.

The Durmazlar LRVs will accommodate 40 seated passengers and 170 standees (at 5p/m2).
