Flixtrain expands Hamburg – Cologne services

FLIXTRAIN will expand the service frequency on the Cologne to Hamburg route to two round trips a day from July 19, offering 20 trains per week on the route. Flixtrain took over marketing of the former HKX branded trains formerly operated by RDC Deutschland on the route on March 23.
It says most services will take around 4h 5min to 4h 10min, faster than most German Rail (DB) services which also serve Bremen.
Nuremberg-based BahnTouristikExpress (BTE), which operates the Flixtrain services on the route and is majority owned by RDC, is currently conducting a recruitment campaign for extra operating staff for the expanded service.

In June, Flixtrain doubled service frequency on the Berlin to Stuttgart route it operates in conjunction with Leo Express.
