These will be assembled at Alstom’s Salzgitter site in Germany. The new Coradia Stream double-deck trains will run on Germany’s Main-Weser regional network operating between Frankfurt, Giessen, Marburg and Kassel. © Alstom Advanced Design & Styling DB Regio has ordered 13 four-car and four five-car trainsets, which will be brought into service alongside a timetable change planned for December 2024. The high-capacity version of the Coradia Stream offers Main-Weser Express line passengers up to 15 percent more space compared to the trains currently in service. The four-car trainset is made up of two double-decker control cars and two single-decker middle cars, providing a total of 420 seats. The five-car trainset adds an extra double-decker middle car, bringing capacity up to 540. When operated in a double traction combination of four and five-car vehicles, capacity can be increased to up to 960 seats.
