Australia: ARTC Appoints Preferred Contractor for Inland Rail sections of Rail Corridor Programme

The Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) has chosen Martinus as the preferred contractor for delivery of the Inland Rail sections of its Rail Corridor Programme.

The Australian-based company will be in charge of laying ballast, sleepers and track for roughly 570 kilometres of railway between Narromine and Moree in New South Wales (NSW) and North Star (NSW) to Gowrie in Queensland.

The work will also involve the delivery of above-ground works, including track construction, rail welding, transportation of materials, and the installation and commissioning of level crossings.

At the peak of the work Martinus expects to employ 600 people.
