Hitachi Joins the US High Speed Rail Association

In the United States, Hitachi Rail has railcar assembly plants on both the east and west coasts. Hitachi Rail says it will add a further assembly plant in the National Capital region where it will build the 8000-series metro cars ordered by the Washington Area Transit Authority.

The US High Speed Rail Association has the goal of building widespread support for major investment in a national high-speed rail network among the public, businesses and in political circles. It was founded in 2009.
