Alstom Presents Future Metro for Lille Metropolitan Region

At the 3rd Assises des Mobilités, the Métropole Européenne de Lille (MEL) and Alstom presented the future metro for the metropolitan region. The presentation took place in Alstom’s maintenance workshop in Villeneuve d’Ascq. The event was attended by Damien Castelain, President of MEL, Gilles Fargier, General Manager of Ilévia, the public transport operator of the Lille metropolitan area, and Jean-Baptiste Eyméoud, President of Alstom France.

The new 52m rubber-tyre metro trains will have a capacity of 405. The design aims to be spacious thanks to the absence of partitions between the four cars. Passengers will benefit from improved accessibility and better information displays. There will be areas for persons with reduced mobility.
